Features: We joined the WTO during the reform and opening-up and the process of socialist modernization, therefore, we face a series of new situations and new development environments. Adapting to these new situations and environments requires learning. Through learning, we aim to enhance awareness, unify thoughts, broaden horizons, increase knowledge, clarify thinking, and formulate strategies. With China's entry into the WTO, Chinese enterprises will face a new international competitive environment. Whether they can survive and thrive in competition and form their own advantages depends on how quickly we cultivate large enterprises with international competitiveness and improve their core competitiveness. It is certain that without a batch of large enterprises with international competitiveness, we will lack the initiative to participate in competition; without the general enhancement of corporate core competitiveness, our competitive advantages cannot be sustained. As Jiang Zemin pointed out: In the long run, to more effectively carry out international competition, we must form a group of large enterprises and multinational companies with international competitiveness. In the new situation after joining the WTO, we must seize every opportunity to strive to form and develop strong Chinese-style multinational companies. This is an urgent need for us to expand opening-up, enhance economic strength and international competitiveness, and withstand the various challenges and tests of economic globalization, so that China can truly become an economic powerhouse.
