Female, 39 years old, uterine fibroid 1815

Patient's question:

Anterior wall of the uterus shows 4-6 heterogeneous hypoechogenic nodules. The larger one is located above the cervix-body junction, measuring 1815. Posterior wall of the uterus shows a 3022 heterogeneous hypoechogenic nodule.

Doctor's answer:

The low-echo nodules on the posterior wall of the uterus should be considered as uterine fibroids. However, since your fibroids are relatively small, they should not cause symptoms such as excessive menstrual bleeding leading to anemia. Many people with fibroids carry pregnancies to term, and uterine fibroids generally have little impact on pregnancy. It is recommended that you regularly monitor your gynecological ultrasound to track the size of the fibroids and their growth rate. If the fibroid size exceeds 5 cm, or if severe clinical symptoms occur due to the fibroid, then surgical intervention should be considered.
