What is the brown fluid after menopause?

Patient's question:

Age 58, postmenopausal for 8 years, had brownish fluid discharge 2 weeks ago for one day. Used Baoerjie for one week. Currently, underwear sometimes slightly wet (colorless). Vagina is smooth, punctate bleeding in vaginal walls, cervix is congested, uterus is of normal size.

Doctor's answer:

Generally speaking, postmenopausal women with an endometrial thickness exceeding 0.5 cm are considered to have thickened endometrium and require further examination. If there are concerns about hysteroscopy, a brief observation period can be considered. Discontinue taking some nutritional supplements, health products, and excessive soy products, and then follow up with an ultrasound examination after 2 months.
