Features: The Collected Works of Wang Jingzhi · Literary Theory Volume: Wang Jingzhi, as a representative poet of the important poetic school "Huiban Poetry Society" in the history of modern Chinese literature, gained widespread attention in the literary world with his famous poetry collection The Wind of Osmanthus. During his time, when he faced attacks from the feudal conservatives, his poetic creations were highly recognized by the New Literature camp. Later, Wang Jingzhi published other poetry collections such as A Lonely Country and Twenty-One Poems. He also wrote short story collections like Father and Daughter and the novel The Story of Cui Yang and Her Husband. In addition to poetry and fiction, Wang Jingzhi made significant contributions to literary research: in 1924, he published Principles of Poetry, in 1928, A Study of Li She, and in 1936, The Conditions of a Writer. These works, published by the Commercial Press, showcase Wang Jingzhi as a scholar, allowing us to gain a more comprehensive understanding of his efforts and contributions to the literary world. Zhu Ziqing wrote in the preface to The Conditions of a Writer: "You have taken the writer as the main thread to weave together these scattered materials, truly presenting something new and original." Indeed, Wang Jingzhi's literary research, as Zhu Ziqing described, was "truly innovative and groundbreaking." Wang Jingzhi's literary research made unique contributions to the development of modern Chinese literature. Although his research sometimes lacked rigor—such as overly dismissing the legacy of Chinese literature or placing excessive emphasis on the role of genius in literature—his arguments sometimes seemed contradictory when discussing how material shortcomings motivate writers, as opposed to his theory on the economic role of genius in the creation of talent. Nevertheless, as a renowned poet in modern Chinese poetry, Wang Jingzhi's literary research has made undeniable achievements for the advancement of literature. This book also includes the Collected Works of Wang Jingzhi: Poetry Volume, Fiction Volume, Correspondence Volume, and Reminiscences · Essays Volume.
