Statistical data in the preliminary maps and text descriptions primarily adopts materials from the 2003 edition of "China Statistical Yearbook," "China City Statistical Yearbook," and "China Population Statistical Yearbook." It is a rich, aesthetically pleasing, and highly practical reference book that reflects the characteristics of the era and offers significant value, suitable for readers to understand and study basic national and provincial conditions, as well as learn about Chinese geography. "The World Atlas" contains 225 pages of maps, 150,000 words of text, and a name index of 62,000 entries. The China Cartographic Publishing House organized a team of experts, scholars, and technicians specializing in world map compilation and publishing. After two years of dedicated effort, they meticulously crafted this work. The atlas fully incorporates the characteristics of outstanding domestic and international atlases in its design, utilized the latest up-to-date data from around the world during the editing process, and employed advanced computer cartographic techniques in its production. The atlas has reached unprecedented levels of scientificity, artistry, and practicality in China.
