Features: In Chapter 2, "Common Symptoms of Nervous System Diseases," five additional symptom groups have been added: intellectual impairment and amnestic syndrome, facial paralysis, bulbar palsy, muscular atrophy, and gait abnormalities. Furthermore, the relevant anatomical foundations have been expanded, integrating symptomatology with the localization diagnosis of nervous system lesions. The editors believe that this chapter, organized by common neurological symptoms and signs, aligns with clinical diagnostic procedures and facilitates the cultivation of students' clinical thinking methods and anatomical problem-solving skills. This edition has added Chapter 12, "Neurodegenerative Diseases," as motor neuron disease and multiple system atrophy should be a standalone chapter. Previously, motor neuron disease was placed under "Spinal Cord Diseases," which was inappropriate. Additionally, Chapter 15, "Sleep Disorders," has been added due to the high prevalence of insomnia, which severely impacts work efficiency and productivity. Alleviating the suffering of these patients is an inherent responsibility of neurologists, and we must pay close attention to this issue. This edition highlights keywords and important entries in bold, and key concepts are marked in callout boxes to emphasize key points, making concepts clearer and the structure more organized. All illustrations have been converted to color, and over 20 new figures have been added to better and more clearly explain clinical neurology. Most chapters in this edition have been condensed to remove redundant content, while some chapters have been expanded to include additional diseases. The text is written with greater precision. As a result, despite adding two chapters, the overall length of the book has not increased.
