This book is based on the 1995 edition of the "Pharmacopoeia of the People's Republic of China," and references dozens of specialized books on traditional Chinese medicine such as "Zhonghua Yihai," "Great Dictionary of Traditional Chinese Medicine," "Identification of True and False Traditional Chinese Medicine," "Brief Dictionary of Traditional Chinese Medicine Names," "Traditional Chinese Medicine Processing," "Collection of Traditional Chinese Medicine Processing Experience," "Traditional Chinese Medicine Identification," and "Commodity Knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine Materials." It also references the "Beijing Municipal Regulations on Traditional Chinese Medicine Prescription Preparation" and selected representative "Traditional Chinese Medicine Prescription Preparation Regulations" nationwide. It is meticulously compiled to suit the prescription preparation needs of Beijing and most other regions in China, serving as a reference for medical and pharmaceutical workers in their work. The compiled content of this book has the following characteristics:
1. The names of drugs are based on the botanical or chemical names, with Latin names appended.
2. The sources of drugs are based on the Latin scientific names.
3. Includes synonyms (including commonly used names in prescriptions and processed names).
4. "Prescription Response" is a crucial part of prescription preparation and a key focus of this book. It clarifies which varieties should be prepared when the prescription lists common or simplified names without noting frying, calcination, or processing methods, as well as the specific auxiliary materials required when the prescription specifies frying, calcination, or processing methods.
5. Briefly describes the properties, functions, indications, usage, and dosage of each drug.
6. Explains the qualifications and responsibilities of traditional Chinese medicine pharmacy personnel.
7. Includes relevant regulations and operation procedures for prescription preparation work.
8. Introduces the main components and dosage of toxic traditional Chinese medicines; the "Medical Toxic Medicine Management Measures" promulgated by the Ministry of Health of the State Council.
9. Lists historical dosage conversion tables for traditional Chinese medicines and dosage tables for the elderly and children.
