Features: Comrade Hou Yangyang invited many experts with a broad interest in scientific and humanistic issues to engage in a "dialogue" on the similarities and differences between science and humanism, as well as their interrelationships, in the China Culture News. This dialogue spanned a long period and has now been compiled under the title Dialogue between Science and Humanism. He hoped that I could write the "preface." In principle, a "preface" should provide a concise introduction to the book's "content" and a brief overview of its "spirit." However, if one glances through the issues covered in this book, it becomes clear that it encompasses a wide range of "dialogue" topics. The question of culture and science is a broad subject. Particularly because culture reflects the economy and politics, and there are differing interest groups with varying values or interest mechanisms in both the economic and political spheres, these differences are reflected in culture, leading to diverse viewpoints and even opposing cultural stances. As for science, it pursues objective truth, and there is only one objective truth. This book includes twenty-two articles, twenty of which are the main dialogues from the Dialogue between Science and Humanism series, and the other two are summaries of the dialogue conference.
