Features: People from various countries and ethnic groups around the world have created distinctive music, which is widely sung and performed. Music is one of the non-verbal tools for mutual communication and exchange. Even if people do not speak the same language, they can listen to or play music together and be moved by it. Today, "globalization" and "regional characteristics" are considered key terms for understanding the modern world. I believe that we should not only appreciate various kinds of music but also, more importantly, recognize, understand, and respect the distinctive musical cultures of different countries. Just as a "garden" on Earth is filled with diverse "flowers" of musical culture, mutual recognition and coexistence are particularly important in the contemporary world. Against this backdrop, Mr. Miao Peiyán, Mr. Lin Nengjie, and Ms. Miao Li have translated my book, which aims to guide learning on "how to appreciate music, how to learn music, and how to express oneself through music," into Chinese and introduced it to Chinese music educators. This is truly a very meaningful endeavor.
