Features: Some enterprises utilize the patentization of technology, standardization of patents, and globalization of standards to gain benefits that cannot be obtained through normal market competition. This leads standards, to some extent, to become tools for these enterprises to seize high profits, losing their functions of coordination and safeguarding public interests. This situation poses a threat to the entire international standardization system. To address this, the National Standardization Administration of China (SAC) organized the "Research Project on the Relationship between Technical Standards and Intellectual Property Rights," aiming to explore and study the intellectual property-related issues in standardization work. "An Overview of Domestic and International Standards and Patents" is one of the outcomes of this project. The European Union, as a fellow WTO member country, has been engaging in various levels of cooperation with SAC in standardization management and research. The writing of this book was supported by the Small Project Facilitation Fund Office of the European Union. This book attempts to provide a concise introduction and analysis of the basic knowledge and information of standards and patents, as well as the patent management strategies of standardization organizations, hoping to assist professionals involved in standardization and intellectual property work.
