Features: The engineering geological environment involved in mining engineering is a complex system that requires a systematic analysis approach. In the engineering geological environment system, it is necessary to consider the interrelationships of various factors holistically, as they are interdependent and interact with each other. Both the mining engineering subsystem and the environmental subsystem are structured, including their composition, structure, characteristics, occurrence environment, and boundary conditions, all of which are dynamic and variable. This is the fundamental idea of the research in this book.
Chapter 1 explores the basic issues of environmental engineering geology. This chapter provides a theoretical summary of the practical content of the book. Environmental engineering geology is a newly emerging field and direction driven by the new developments in human engineering activities. Its core is the theory of the interdependence and interaction between engineering construction and the geological environment. Its research approach is systematic engineering analysis and evaluation, and its goal is to predict the dynamic changes of the engineering geological environment and the trends of geological disasters, providing scientific basis and countermeasures to ensure the social, economic, and environmental benefits of engineering construction.
Chapter 2 discusses the characteristics of the geological environment in this specific engineering context of mining engineering. It conducts an in-depth and detailed study of the geological environment from aspects such as the formation features, structural characteristics, occurrence environment, boundary conditions, and slope stability, with a focus on the regulatory role of the geological environment on mining engineering.
Chapter 3 studies the information system of the engineering geological environment with the Wukanshan Mine as the background. Based on the research of relational data models and vector data models, a data and graphical information system for Wukanshan Mine was established. It explores methods for evaluating the engineering geological environment, including clustering, classification, fuzzy, and comprehensive evaluation.
Chapter 4 discusses the impact and destructive effects of mining engineering on the geological (ecological) environment, summarizing aspects such as the occupation and destruction of land resources, damage to hydrological environments, ground deformation, and waste pollution. It focuses on the changes in the groundwater seepage field and the impact of blasting on the mining environment.
Chapter 5 proposes a plan for the restoration of the geological (ecological) environment based on the current evaluation of the mining geological (ecological) environment. This is also the purpose of the research.
Chapter 6: Conclusion.
