Features: Every day, think of three things to be grateful for. Decades ago, a disabled American had his home burglarized, losing a lot of valuables. A friend wrote to comfort him, but he replied, "Thank you for your letter. Actually, I'm quite at peace right now because: first, the thief only took my belongings and didn't harm my life; second, the thief only stole some of my possessions, not all of them; third, thankfully, it was others who came to steal from me, not me who went to steal." It was this kind of mindset that allowed this disabled individual to face any situation, big or small, with a positive attitude, ultimately leading to extraordinary achievements. Can you guess who he was? He was none other than the later U.S. President—Franklin D. Roosevelt. Honestly, I really love Roosevelt's way of thinking; it's very "healthy" and "upbeat"! Think about it: If someone who had been burglarized and lost their valuables could find three "blessings in disguise" to be grateful for in that event, what reason do you and I, whose daily lives are like nothing compared to that, have to often complain and sigh? The secret to happiness lies in a grateful heart. Well, let's start today and give ourselves a small assignment: "Before going to sleep each night, think of three things to be grateful for and silently express your thanks!" Sometimes you might feel that the whole day, or even this period, has been terrible and there's nothing to be grateful for. That's okay. If you just take a moment to reflect, you can, like Roosevelt, find a few things to be grateful for in the midst of misfortune. And once you develop this small habit, you'll joyfully discover that there are actually so many hidden surprises in your life that you hadn't noticed before. Isn't that right? "Thinking of three things to be grateful for before going to sleep each night" is my own prescription for happiness, and I think it works quite well! Would you like to try it too?
