Features: Since the Criminal Law of the People's Republic of China was re-published in March 1997, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress has newly promulgated one Decision on Punishing Crimes of Fraudulently Purchasing Foreign Exchange, Evading Exchange Control, and Illegally Trading Foreign Exchange and five Criminal Law Amendments, making significant modifications and supplements to the law. Additionally, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress has promulgated six legislative interpretations, strictly defining the legislative principles related to certain provisions of the Criminal Law. As for the criminal judicial interpretations of the Supreme People's Court and the Procuratorial Supreme People's Court [1], there are even more, totaling nearly a hundred. Moreover, the Supreme People's Court promulgated two Supplementary Regulations on Determining Crimes in 2002 and 2003, adjusting and supplementing the crimes determined in 1997, with over 30 crimes being modified or added. All of this has made criminal law textbooks published shortly after the promulgation of the new Criminal Law severely outdated. To incorporate the modifications, supplements, and interpretations of the Criminal Law by the National People's Congress, as well as the judicial interpretations of the Supreme People's Court and the Procuratorial Supreme People's Court, into criminal law teaching, we have newly compiled this Criminal Law.
