Features: Many things in the world are difficult to be judged solely by good or bad. Sometimes, when we try to do good, the results are not as expected. We have experienced such things far too often. In society, phenomena of misplaced relationships frequently occur, such as the inversion of good and bad, beauty and ugliness, truth and falsehood, and so on. In reality, we should not be this way. Western studies focus on the essence of things, enjoying digging deep and pursuing to the end; whereas our traditional scholarship emphasizes "relationships," including human-to-human, human-to-society, and human-to-nature relationships, adopting the attitude of "what lies beyond the Six Harmonies, let it be" regarding the essence. We focus on relationships, yet cases of misplaced relationships happen repeatedly. This book is a collection of essays, including memories of watching movies, miscellaneous recollections of Tianqiao, the fading Imperial Examination Hall, and debates on whether a large or small government is better.
