Features: The "Map of Water Conservancy Conditions Along the Grand Canal in Nine Provinces" was drawn by an anonymous individual around the 55th year of the Qianlong reign (1790 AD), over two hundred years ago. The map provides a detailed depiction of water conservancy conditions along the Grand Canal route from Shaoxing to Beijing, including locks, weirs, tributary inflows, and the diversion of canal water. It also incorporates the Yangtze River barge traffic from the two lakes via Jiangxi to Zhenjiang, Jiangsu, reflecting it in a simplified manner. The map holds significant historical and artistic value and is a treasured collection of the Rare Books and Manuscripts Division of the National Library of China. Zhejiang has published a facsimile reproduction of this map, which is of great importance for promoting the culture of the thousand-year-old Grand Canal and ensuring the implementation of heritage preservation efforts.
