Features: The "Asia-Pacific University Robot Contest" (ROBOCON, ABUAsia-PacificRobotContest), which began in 2002, is an annual major international event organized by the "Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union" (ABU), a council composed of representatives from China, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Thailand. The competition primarily targets university students in the region, with a special focus on engineering students, aiming to cultivate interest and passion for high technology among young people in various countries, enhance the technological level of participating nations, and discover and nurture talent for the development of the robotics industry. Each edition of the competition is hosted by a member country of the council in turn. The theme of the fourth competition, held in Beijing, China in 2005, was "Climbing the Great Wall, Lighting the Sacred Flame."
As the domestic qualifier for the "Asia-Pacific University Robot Contest," the annual "National University Robot Contest" is organized by China Central Television (CCTV), with co-sponsorship from the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the China Association for Science and Technology. It is the most important domestic competition for university students to showcase their robot technology.
This book focuses on the "Fourth Asia-Pacific University Robot Contest" and the "Fourth National University Robot Contest," providing an in-depth interpretation of the university robot competition from multiple perspectives and dimensions through competition chronicles, competition analysis, and the thoughts and feelings of organizers and participants. It aims to authentically recreate the excitement and achievements of the competition, hoping to attract more robotics enthusiasts to participate.
