Does it really make people fall asleep? How does it achieve this? By reading this book, we will unveil the mystery of hypnosis and further guide you in learning hypnosis techniques. If you are interested in it, then quickly flip through this book. What is hypnosis? Is it "making people fall asleep"? Do you want to learn hypnosis techniques? If you want to know the answers to these questions, then quickly flip through this book. What exactly is hypnosis? Let's first hear about the experiences shared by clients who have undergone hypnosis therapy!
"In the state of hypnosis, I felt a relaxation I had never experienced before. My body felt light, very relaxed and comfortable. It was as if I could see things very clearly and knew exactly what to do."
"I watched a movie about myself, seeing every event that happened to me and every person I encountered. I felt more awake than usual, even more alert than. Thoughts and small voices emerged in my mind, and I was deeply moved by myself for the first time."
"I discovered that the answers to many problems were deep within me. Those things that had troubled me were actually the best arrangements. They naturally flowed and occurred. I just had to quietly observe and wait for the answers to naturally present themselves."
"In the state of hypnosis, I surprisingly remembered things from my childhood. It was so strange, so clear, as if I was experiencing them firsthand. Those were things I had long forgotten, as if I had relived them all over again. It was very interesting."
"It was like falling into a deep sleep, very relaxing. I couldn’t believe it was only thirty minutes. It felt like I had gotten the most thorough sleep, as if my whole body was cleansed."
The experience of formal hypnosis therapy is truly wonderful. It is not as many people imagine, a loss of control, nor is it the "personality transformation" seen in stage performances. It is even not that hard to hypnotize others. You should know that everyone is their own best hypnotherapist! Why is that? Let's first look at the definition of hypnosis!
Simply put, hypnosis is the process of guiding oneself or others into a different state of consciousness. In this state, a person's behavior may change—for example, a very introverted person might express many feelings, or an adult might cry like a child, or they might see things that don’t actually exist. A person's thoughts may also change—for example, feeling exceptionally clear-headed, remembering things forgotten from childhood, or hearing spontaneous thoughts flowing in their mind. Additionally, a person's emotions may change—for example, experiencing a sense of comfort never felt before, or vividly reliving the emotions of past events. In short, hypnosis is the art of guiding someone into a different state, where they become more authentic and more easily suggestible.
Generally speaking, when using hypnosis for clinical treatment, a moderate state of hypnosis is sufficient. In this state, a person not only remains clear-headed but is actually more alert than usual, which is very interesting. Some of my clients have woken up and said, "I was always awake! I remember everything!" I always smile and reply, "That’s the best state!"
As for the people on TV who lose control when hypnotized and do funny things, that is in a deep state of hypnosis, which not everyone can achieve! So, now you should understand why everyone is their own best hypnotherapist. Because we are all living in an "unconscious self-hypnosis" every moment.
How many times during the day do we change our state of consciousness? When we meet someone we love, our entire attention is on them. Every move, every expression of theirs keeps us captivated, with a strong "suggestion effect." When we are feeling down, we think the sky is gray, everyone’s expressions look terrible, and even the music feels sad. When we see beautiful scenery, we linger, unknowingly standing there for a long time.
I remember when I was a child, I always liked to sit by the river and watch the water flow. I watched those strange ripples change, how each wave rose, spread, and disappeared. I watched the light and shadow paint on the water’s surface. Many ideas and memoriesed in my mind. It was as if I could sit there forever, forgetting time and forgetting the people around me. Sometimes, when I stood up, I realized it was already dark.
Looking back now, that must have been a spontaneous "deep state of hypnosis."
