Patient's question:
My child is 2 years old this year. In daily life, the right hand and foot have no strength, the right foot walks in an outward eight shape, the right hand clenches a fist, and the right ear has unclear hearing. After a check-up, it was found to be cerebral palsy. The entire family was almost collapsing. I want to know how to treat it.Doctor's answer:
Hello. The child has cerebral palsy. The feet touch the ground with the toes. The fine motor skills of both hands are poor. Cerebral palsy usually occurs before birth or in infancy. The causes include: birth injuries, neonatal jaundice, hypoxia; premature birth, etc. The main symptoms are increased muscle tone. Difficulty in abduction. In severe cases, muscle rigidity, contractures, and joint flexion can be observed. In mild cases, poor fine motor skills of the hands can be seen. When walking, the heels cannot touch the ground. Such patients often have language development and dysarthria as well as strabismus. About 1/3 of patients have varying degrees of seizures and intellectual disabilities. Cerebral palsy can cause delayed motor development. Lack of activity after 3 months of birth. Poor mobility. Lack of crawling movements of hands and feet when prone; the hands remain tense in a grasp after 4-6 months of birth. Clumsy gait, scissor gait, etc.
