16. Generally, sores with matured pus should not be punctured, as pus toxins can erode the skin. Mild cases may be difficult to treat, while severe cases may be incurable. For the elderly, weak individuals, or in remote or critical places, if pus forms, it should be punctured immediately and followed by Tuoli herbs to prevent complications.

For pain caused by heat toxins, cold and heat-reducing herbs are used; for pain caused by cold pathogens, warm and heat-dispersing herbs are used; for pain caused by wind, wind is dispelled; for pain caused by dampness, dampness is guided; for pain caused by dryness, moisture is added; for pain caused by stagnation, stagnation is resolved; for pain caused by deficiency, deficiency is replenished; for pain caused by excess, excess ised; for blocked pus, it is opened; for invasive necrotic tissue, it is removed; for imbalanced Yin and Yang, it is adjusted; for obstructed meridians, they are resolved. Avoid using cold and heat-reducing herbs in general. Since blood prefers warmth and dislikes cold, if cold enters the interior, blood will stagnate, making the condition difficult to heal.
