How is endometritis treated

Patient's question:

4th month had an induced abortion surgery, after May, the discharge had a foul odor, in August diagnosed with endometritis, took two months of Chinese medicine to regulate, improved a bit, but still had an odor.

Doctor's answer:

For married patients, intracavitary medication can be used. Before the procedure, a bimanual examination should be performed to determine the size and position of the uterus. The external genitalia and vagina should be disinfected, and the uterine cavity should be probed to measure its depth. A sterile catheter is then inserted through the cervix into the uterine cavity, ensuring it is less than 0.5 cm shorter than the depth of the cavity. The selected medication is slowly injected into the uterine cavity through the catheter. Once all the medication has been administered, the catheter is removed. The patient should lie flat or elevate their hips for 1 to 2 hours. The procedure is repeated once daily, except during menstruation. Since this method allows the medication to act directly on the affected area, it often yields significant therapeutic effects.
