When is it appropriate to have surgery for cervical erosion?

Patient's question:

Before, I had a feeling of lower abdominal pain, which was exactly during ovulation. There was a lot of leukorrhea with a purulent yellow color. The examination revealed third-degree cervical erosion and pelvic effusion. Now, I have received several days of intravenous drip treatment for inflammation.

Doctor's answer:

The diagnosis of pelvic inflammatory disease is not pelvic effusion, but rather abdominal pain, fever, frequent urination, and rectal fullness. This is consistent with gynecological examination and elevated white blood cells. Normal individuals also have free pelvic fluid, otherwise it would dry up. Cervical erosion is caused by estrogen, causing the normal cervical canal mucosa to grow outward, appearing red and resembling erosion, but it is actually normal tissue and does not require treatment. However, cervical cytology examination is necessary to rule out cervical cancer.
