Symptoms of cervical hypertrophy

Patient's question:

Symptoms of cervical hypertrophy, what are the hazards?

Doctor's answer:

Cervical hyperplasia is a type of chronic cervical inflammation. It is caused by inflammatory changes in the cervical mucosa due to pathogen infection. The pathogens that can cause cervical hyperplasia include mycoplasma, chlamydia, bacteria, and viruses. It is recommended to visit the gynecology department of a hospital for a cervical secretion examination. Based on the examination results, symptomatic treatment should be administered. If necessary, a cervical TCT examination should be performed to rule out early cervical cancer.
Simple cervical hyperplasia does not affect pregnancy, but severe cervical inflammation can lead to endometritis, tubo-ovarian inflammation, tubal adhesion, and obstruction, resulting in infertility. Cervical hyperplasia may sometimes be 2 to 4 times larger than a normal cervix. The surface of the cervix can be smooth or may have erosion. The texture of the cervix is generally harder, which is due to the proliferation of fibrous connective tissue.
Cervical hyperplasia usually does not require treatment. If erosion is present, cervical erosion can be treated. For cervical hyperplasia with deep and extensive erosion involving the cervical canal, as well as (or) suspected malignancy, a cone biopsy of the cervix can be performed. The excised tissue should be sent for pathological examination. This method leaves smaller scars, and the cervix can retain its original shape after surgery.
