Features: The total length of the 6th edition is roughly similar to that of the 5th edition. Compared to the 5th edition, the 6th edition has been revised and supplemented for some parts that were previously unclear or imprecise, the arrangement of some chapters has been adjusted, and new content has been added. For example, in Chapter 2, passive electrical properties of the cell membrane and the relationship between macroscopic membrane currents and single-channel currents were added; in Chapter 3, the anticoagulant function of vascular endothelium was added; in Chapter 4, the extrarenal renin-angiotensin system, renal medullary substance, and a comparison of short-term and long-term regulation of arterial blood pressure were added; in Chapter 6, the content of gastrointestinal hormones was added; in Chapter 8, the reabsorption of calcium by renal tubules was added; in Chapter 10, new content on the function of the basal ganglia was added; in Chapter 11, leptin was added; in Chapter 12, sexual physiology was added, and so on. Regarding the index, we still arrange the entries in the order of the pinyin of individual Chinese terms, and the number of entries has increased by more than 50% compared to the 5th edition, to facilitate medical students' use of this textbook.
