③ Lips are the most active muscles on the face. The ideal lip shape when applying lipstick is a natural smile. The specific steps are to first outline the desired lip shape with a lip liner, then apply lipstick. Start by applying it to the corners of the mouth, then blend it towards the center of the lips. For thicker lips, apply more color inside and gradually lighten towards the edges. For thinner lips, apply more color to the upper lip and less to the lower lip to correct any shape imperfections. If the lower lip protrudes more than the upper, do the opposite. Lipstick should be applied evenly and should never extend beyond the lips.
