Acute appendicitis

Patient's question:

Lower left abdominal pain 3 days ago, lower left abdominal pain, the same as 2 years ago, diagnosed with acute appendicitis 2 years ago

Doctor's answer:

Analysis of the condition: Acute adnexitis refers to the simultaneous inflammation of both the fallopian tubes and the ovaries. Tubal inflammation is the most common type of acute pelvic inflammatory disease. It primarily occurs in women of childbearing age.
Guidelines for treatment:
1. General treatment: Bed rest is recommended, with a high-head-low-foot position to facilitate the drainage and localization of secretions. Fluids should be supplemented to correct fluid and electrolyte imbalances. Physical cooling measures should be applied during high fever.
2. Antibiotic treatment: Bacterial culture of cervical secretions is unreliable. Secretions can be obtained via posterior vaginal fornix puncture or laparoscopic sampling for bacterial culture and drug sensitivity testing to guide antibiotic selection. Since adnexitis is often caused by mixed infections, effective antibiotics should be used in combination until the culture report is available. For hospitalized patients, intravenous administration is primarily used.
