Patient's question:
I have inverted nipples. Yesterday, someone suggested I buy a nipple corrector. I bought it and tried it today, but I don't know the correct way to use it. After placing the corrector on my nipple and using the ball to pull it out, should I leave it like this? How long should it be fixed for each time, and how many times a day? Or should I pull the nipple out, release it, and then place it back on and repeat the action? After pulling the nipple out, I found milk being extracted. I'm due to give birth in more than a week, and now the corrector is already extracting milk. Will this have any impact? I'm so worried...Doctor's answer:
I suggest you stop using the nipple corrector. Instead, you can use your fingers to pull the nipples outward. Do this 3 times a day. The method is to use your thumb, index finger, middle finger, and ring finger to pull the nipples outward, for about half an hour each time. You should no longer use it, as pain can easily lead to preterm labor.
