Features: Founded in 1904, Huanggang High School in Hubei Province was designated as a key high school in Hubei in 1953 and was awarded the title of "Advanced Unit in the National Education System" in 1986. In 2002, it was recognized as an "Advanced Unit in National Spiritual Civilization Construction." Huanggang High School upholds the educational philosophy of "people-centered, virtue-based," forming a distinctive approach to nurturing students that emphasizes "comprehensiveness plus specialization." It has developed a teaching style characterized by "seeking truth, striving for excellence, embracing diversity, and pursuing innovation." The outstanding performance in college entrance exams and competitions is a natural outcome of its long-term implementation of quality education, representing only one aspect of its abundant teaching achievements.
When it comes to cultivating students, what magic formula does Huanggang High School possess? What power does it have to turn sand into a tower? What ability does it have to transform ordinary into extraordinary? These are questions I often hear. To think that Huanggang High School merely follows the (command) of the college entrance exams and passively engages in test-taking is incorrect. Huanggang High School does not advocate rote memorization or passive problem-solving. If it has any exceptional qualities, it lies in its ability to fully grasp the intentions of examiners and deeply understand the underlying principles, positioning itself as a leader rather than a blind follower.
Huanggang High School does not oppose teachers immersing themselves in a sea of problems but strongly advocates that students break free from it. It opposes students doing mechanical, simple, repetitive, and tedious exercises but requires them to complete essential ones. We encourage students to tackle flexible and diverse problems with broad applications, allowing them to enrich their knowledge, develop skills, and enhance their qualities through the problem-solving process.
If there is anything else that Huanggang High School has achieved success in, it is that while cultivating and nurturing a large number of outstanding students, it has also forged a strong team of teachers, creating renowned master teachers in Hubei Province. These teachers possess deep scientific and cultural literacy, innovative educational concepts, unique teaching styles, artistic flair, and impressive teaching results.
To showcase the talents of Huanggang High School's teachers and share their teaching achievements, we have organized and carefully planned the writing of three series of books: 《Huanggang High School Homework Books》, 《Huanggang High School Exam Papers》, and 《Huanggang High School 2006 College Entrance Exam Training Series (First and Second Rounds)》。 The 《Huanggang High School 2006 College Entrance Exam Training Series (First and Second Rounds)》 adopts a "full simulation" format to highlight its features. Whether in open-ended or conventional problem types, the quantity and difficulty are designed to closely align with the college entrance exams, emphasizing innovation and practicality.
Targeting the different time periods and characteristics of the first, second, and third rounds of the college entrance exams, we have positioned the first-round training problems as unit exercises, the second-round training problems as thematic exercises, and the third-round training problems as simulated tests. This allows for a comprehensive, progressive approach to addressing the challenges students face during the three-round review process.
Part of the content in this series is derived from internal teaching materials and exchanges with friendly schools, while the other part consists of newly added materials based on recent changes in college entrance exam questions. These books are now compiled and published for the first time, making their debut publicly.
This series also reflects the following writing philosophy and features:
1. Appropriate problem positioning: Based on the chronological order of the review process, the problem arrangement focuses on reinforcing and improving the knowledge points, question types, and methods relevant to the exam. The complexity and difficulty of the problems gradually advance toward the college entrance exams.
2. Detailed solution hints: The answers at the end of the book are well-balanced, with detailed explanations provided for difficult problems. The insightful hints scattered throughout the series often serve as the finishing touch to solving problems.
This series emphasizes the originality and quality of the problems created by the authors. Rigorous review and proofreading are conducted at every stage to strive for excellence in the supplementary education market.
