Features: The Secretly Transmitted Treatise on Eye Diseases (Longmu Lun) is one of the earliest and most renowned ancient Chinese ophthalmology in China. After compilation, the entire work consists of 11 volumes. The first volume is the General Introduction to Longmu. Volumes 1 to 6 are the Treatises on 72 Syndromes and Formulas. Each treatise is accompanied by "The Song of Examination" and the corresponding formulas. Volume 7 contains "The Secret Formulas of Various Masters." Volume 8 is the Acupuncture and Moxibustion Treatise, while Volumes 9 to 10 discuss the properties of medicinal herbs. At the end, there is a volume by the Taoist figure Baoguang Daoren titled The Collection of Eye Diseases (Longmu Ji), which presents 72 questions on the etiology, pathogenesis, syndrome differentiation, treatment, and prescription of eye diseases. This compilation is based on the Ming Wanli era (1573) woodblock print of the Book Industry Hall Collection, meticulously collated and edited. An introduction is added to the beginning of the book, and an index of formulas and an index of medicinal names are appended at the end for easy reference. This book is primarily intended for researchers, educators, and clinical practitioners in traditional Chinese medicine ophthalmology.
