Features: The revised edition of "Management of Science and Technology Archives" (hereinafter referred to as "the revised edition") is a national key teaching material for general higher education under the "Nineth Five-Year Plan" approved by the State Education Commission. In accordance with the State Education Commission's requirement of "focusing on key areas and producing high-quality products," the revised edition has undergone substantial adjustments and modifications to the original "Management of Science and Technology Archives" (Higher Education Textbook for Humanities and Social Sciences), published in February 1989: (1) The content has been enriched. The establishment of the socialist market economy and modern enterprise systems has further promoted the development of science and technology archives. The revised edition supplements the new experiences in science and technology archives work since the reform and opening-up, broadens the content of science and technology archives collection, deepens the development and utilization of science and technology archives resources, highlights the management of enterprise archives and their comprehensive management, and particularly strengthens the elaboration of macro-management of science and technology archives. (2) The chapter structure has been adjusted. The 1989 edition of "Management of Science and Technology Archives" consists of 7 parts and 25 chapters; after the adjustment, the revised edition becomes 6 parts and 20 chapters. 1) A new part titled "Tasks and Organization of Science and Technology Archives Work" is established to focus on the content, nature, principles, system, and management of science and technology archives work. 2) Since there are separate courses for computer management and microfilm copying, the part on "Modern Management of Science and Technology Archives" has been removed. 3) To focus on the content of science and technology archives management, the part on "Science and Technology Information Work" has been removed.
