Patient's question:
Doctor, hello. I currently feel very uncomfortable in my lower abdomen. I think I might have some gynecological disease. At my age, it's quite normal and common to get gynecological conditions. So, I went to the hospital for a gynecological examination, which is a check-up for the female uterus and its appendages. After the examination results came out, the hospital directly gave me the report, but I don't know how to interpret it.Doctor's answer:
Hello, examination of the uterus and adnexa: A normal uterus is inverted pear-shaped, measuring 7-8 cm in length, 4-5 cm in width, and 2-3 cm in thickness. Most are in a propped-forward and flexed position, with medium hardness and good mobility. The ovaries and fallopian tubes are collectively referred to as "adnexa." A normal ovary may occasionally enlarge to a size of 3×2×1 cm3 and is mobile, with a slightly aching sensation upon palpation. Normal fallopian tubes cannot be palpated. If the uterus is in a "mid-position" or "posterior position" and there are no obvious clinical symptoms, it is not a significant issue.
