Maslow's complete bibliography
Maslow's famous paper "A Theory of Human Motivation" was first published in Psychological Review in 1943. His motivation theory is also known as the Hierarchy of Needs, which posits that human motivation and the fulfillment of needs are closely related. The hierarchy of needs varies in levels, with lower-level needs being physiological, followed sequentially by safety, love and belonging, respect, and self-actualization. Self-actualization refers to the full realization of one's potential. The pursuit of self-actualization is the highest motivation, characterized by devotion to a cause. Higher levels of self-actualization exhibit self-transcendence and hold significant social value. The function of a healthy society lies in promoting universal self-actualization. He believed that the human nature endowed by biological evolution is fundamentally good. The more mature a person is, the more creative they become, and evil and neurosis are caused by the environment. He authored works such as Motivation and Personality (1954), Explorations in Existential Psychology (1962), Psychology of Science (1967), and The Psychology of Being (1970).
This series includes eight volumes: Mindset Motivation, The Pursuit of Success, Self-Actualization, The Peak of Life, Explorations in Survival, The Power of Execution, Strategies for Action, and The Laws of Life.
