How to prevent endometriosis?

Patient's question:

Last week I went to the hospital for a check-up and was diagnosed with endometriosis.

Doctor's answer:

Hello, the methods to prevent endometriosis include: Avoid excessive or strenuous physical exercise, dance activities, or other physical labor during menstruation to prevent retrograde menstruation caused by sudden changes in body position and intra-abdominal pressure. Any factors that obstruct the normal flow of menstrual blood must be corrected promptly. It is best to avoid induced abortion or other intrauterine procedures. If endometriosis is suspected after long-term intrauterine device (IUD) use, the IUD should be removed and alternative contraception methods should be adopted. Pelvic examinations should be avoided during menstruation, and procedures such as hysterosalpingography or tubal catheterization should not be performed in the month following a D&C surgery to prevent detached endometrial tissue from entering the pelvic cavity via the fallopian tubes. Cervical surgeries such as electrocoagulation, laser, cryotherapy, cone biopsy, and repair should be performed shortly after menstruation to ensure that the cervical wound heals sufficiently before the next menstrual period, preventing the implantation of endometrial tissue from menstrual blood on the wound.
