Features: The Algerian Airborne Commando Regiment, a special forces unit of Algeria, was established in 1954 as the 19th Parachute Battalion of Algeria. The training, equipment, and operational strategies of many new airborne operations of the Algerian special forces were more influenced by the practical experience of the Soviet Union. The Algerian special forces have participated in some overseas combat operations. Argentine Special Operations 601, 602 Brigades Falcon Special Operations Group In the 1960s, the United States helped Argentina establish a special forces unit. Following the structure and regulations of the U.S. special forces, Argentina established an assault brigade. This unit, named Special Operations Brigade 601, quickly gained fame within the Argentine military. Due to this, Argentina also established a second assault brigade—602. All soldiers of the assault brigades underwent parachute training at the Catamarcá Parachute School and engaged in cross-training with soldiers from other special forces units. The first disclosed operation of the 601 Brigade was during the 1982 Falklands War between the United Kingdom and Argentina, where it conducted a mobile warfare operation against the British SAS Special Forces in Kent Mountain. The standard equipment of Special Operations Brigades includes sniper rifles, assault weapons equipped with high-quality night vision devices, and high-quality combat uniforms.
Falcon Special Operations Group The Falcon Special Operations Group was established in 1986, with the purpose of combating terrorism. It is a police unit directly under the Buenos Aires police department. Its structure is very similar to anti-terrorism combat units in the armed forces. The Falcon Special Operations Group consists of 75 members, divided into 5 teams, with each team having 15 operatives. This includes: 2 snipers, 8 assault operators, 1 negotiation expert, 1 intelligence expert, 1 communications expert, 1 medic, and 1 explosives disposal expert. The training of this team consists of 3 courses, each lasting 2 months. The training programs include: covering fire, parachuting, driving skills in mobile assaults, sniping, intelligence gathering, use of explosive devices, and helicopter insertion into enemy depths. In addition to counter-terrorism missions, the Falcon Special Operations Group is also responsible for providing personal protection for important figures. The Falcon Special Operations Group uses combat uniforms and defensive equipment produced domestically and internationally in Argentina. The weapons and equipment of the Falcon Special Operations Group include: the Franchi SPAS12 shotgun, the Glock
