Features: The guitar has been introduced to China for nearly a century. For a long time, due to the interference of various wrong concepts, its development was very slow until 1982 when it was officially recognized and began to develop normally. In 1984, Shanghai established the first national guitar art organization—the Shanghai Guitar Association. In 1988, Shanghai Music Publishing House launched the first national guitar art professional series—Guitar Friends. Since 1997, we have published the Classical Guitar Examination Repertoire and have held classical guitar examination activities every year, gaining broad support from students, parents, and guitar enthusiasts. Therefore, we are now launching the Folk Guitar Examination Repertoire. For the convenience of self-study, each piece in the collection includes performance tips. Levels 1-3 are primarily arranged with chords and accompaniment patterns. Levels 4-8, in addition to noting chords and accompaniment patterns, require the player to perform various arpeggio accompaniments and introductions or interludes using tablature. Levels 9-10 focus on art songs in the form of classical guitar accompaniment, requiring the player to have a certain foundation in reading treble clef notation and classical guitar playing skills.
