Will ovarian cysts worsen?

Patient's question:

I want to ask that my previous ovarian cyst was 3526 cm. After taking medication, it reduced to 3218 cm, and there was no bleeding. {It has been almost a week} but yesterday I noticed some blood again. I thought it was my period because it was around the same time, but today I only found a little blood, which is similar to the bleeding from the cyst before. I don’t know if it’s my period or if the cyst is bleeding again. I am still taking medication now, so could the cyst have worsened?

Doctor's answer:

Cysts are generally mostly benign, but there is a small chance of malignancy. Your current cyst is also not small. Taking medication alone may not be very effective and could delay the best treatment time for the cyst. You can have a blood test to perform a cyst characterization examination. If the results are normal and the cyst is benign, you can choose our hospital's A-LOK minimally invasive treatment. It does not require hospitalization, no surgery is needed, and the cyst can be cured once and for all, effectively reducing the recurrence rate of the cyst.
