Endometritis can cause vaginal bleeding?

Patient's question:

Main symptoms: Intermittent vaginal bleeding for 4 days, viscous, small amount, abdominal pain for 10 days, sensation of heaviness, menstruation more than 8 days overdue.
Onset time: 4-5 days.
Laboratory test results: No inflammation found in the vagina, an ovarian cyst detected by ultrasound 7 days ago has disappeared, other results are normal.

Doctor's answer:

Endometritis can cause vaginal bleeding. Endometritis onset is relatively acute, with chills, even shivering, fever (38-40°C), rapid pulse, general weakness, sweating, severe lower abdominal pain, a sense of heaviness, and lower back pain. There is a large amount of bloody, purulent, or watery leukorrhea with a foul odor. Postpartum infection results in lochia appearing muddy in color.
Signs: The patient has lower abdominal tenderness. Speculum examination reveals a large amount of purulent or foul-smelling, bloody discharge overflowing from the cervix. During bimanual examination, the cervix is tender when lifted. The uterus is enlarged due to congestion and edema, becoming soft and tender to palpation. Laboratory tests show an increase in total white blood cell count and neutrophils.
