How long after cervical inflammation treatment can one have sexual intercourse?

Patient's question:

Hello, I always feel lower back pain and aches, and I don't know what's wrong. Also, my leukorrhea is still quite heavy. Later, my husband accompanied me to the hospital for a check-up, where they said I have cervicitis and recommended electrotherapy for treatment. I am currently undergoing treatment as well. I don't know how long I will need to wait before I can have sex.

Doctor's answer:

1. After treatment for 2-3 days, there will be a large amount of bloody or yellowish fluid discharge from the vagina, often requiring the use of sanitary pads. This usually stops after about 3 weeks.
2. If there is excessive vaginal discharge and local discomfort in the external genital area, warm water or a 1:5000 potassium permanganate solution can be used to clean the external genital area, twice a day.
3. Wear 100% cotton underwear and change it frequently to maintain cleanliness of the external genital area.
4. Abstain from sexual activity for 1-2 months.
5. Do not swim in swimming pools.
