Patient's question:
Does cervical inflammation always cause lower abdominal pain? There were blood streaks in my leukorrhea, but it was from last summer. This morning, there was a little bit, but only once, and then it stopped. Is this cervical inflammation?Doctor's answer:
Disease Analysis: There are numerous pharmacological treatment methods for chronic cervical erosion, commonly including the following:1. Local vaginal irrigation and topical medication: This is the most commonly used treatment. Irrigation solutions can include 1:5000 potassium permanganate solution, 1:1000 povidone-iodine solution, 1% acetic acid solution, or 0.5–1% lactic acid solution. For mild superficial cases, cotton swabs can be used to apply 5–10% tincture of iodine or 5–10% silver nitrate solution to eroded areas locally, once a week, to promote healing. However, care must be taken to avoid leakage of the medication onto normal mucosa outside the affected area. After applying silver nitrate, physiological saline cotton balls are gently wiped to remove excess solution, though this method is now rarely used. Local application of chloramphenicol and prednisone tablets (250mg chloramphenicol and 5mg prednisone per tablet) can be placed deep in the vagina nightly or every other night for 10 consecutive uses, which is one course of treatment. The efficacy is comparable to general disinfectant irrigation and can be chosen based on the condition.
Recommendations:
2. Vaginal lateral fornix closure: Refer to the chapter on other therapies for details on closure therapy. This can be used for chronic cervical erosion combined with parametritis, lumbosacral pain, and significant cervical motion tenderness, which severely affects sexual life.
3. Chinese herbal wash "Jie Er Yin": Suitable for various acute and chronic cervical erosions. Its main ingredients include cinnabar fruit, phellodendron amurense, and Sophora flavescens. Generally, a 10% solution is used for vaginal irrigation or sitz baths, once daily, with two weeks constituting one course of treatment.
