Patient's question:
All symptoms: My child has been weaned for a year. Recently, when my wife and I prepare for intimacy, we found that my wife's nipples are leaking white milk (sour smell): December 2009Doctor's answer:
Analysis of the condition: When women enter menopause, endocrine disorders can cause some women to secrete a small amount of milk. Additionally, conditions such as breast hyperplasia, mammary duct ectasia, breast trauma, inflammation, various benign and malignant tumors of the breast, hyperprolactinemia, hypothyroidism, and pituitary tumors, as well as endocrine disorders caused by these conditions, can all lead to pathological galactorrhea.Advice: Nipple discharge can be classified as either physiological or pathological. In general, bilateral discharge may be physiological, such as when most women still secrete a small amount of milk within one year of stopping breastfeeding; during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, some pregnant women may express a small amount of pale colostrum from both breasts; or in a few women, short-term discharge may occur after intense sexual climax due to highly congested breast blood vessels, breast enlargement, and nipple erection.
