Features: The head entries of this dictionary are selected based on the officially revised Xinhua Dictionary (1998 edition). The head entries are organized in phonetic order. Each group is divided into two columns: "Standard Form" and "Pronunciation." The "Pronunciation" column includes Hanyu Pinyin, standardized simplified characters, and annotations for traditional characters and variant characters. Characters marked with · are variant characters listed in the official compilation table, while those marked with ·· are variant characters outside the official compilation table. For polyphonic characters, the cursive form appears only once, with the first pronunciation indicated by the head entry note in Xinhua Dictionary as the standard. The remaining pronunciations are marked in parentheses after the note, indicating their tones (e.g., yīnpíng or yángpíng, shàngshēng, qùshēng, qīngshēng), showing that the character has additional pronunciations and uses the same cursive form. Generally, the cursive form of a character follows the standard form of the corresponding head character. The basic traditional characters included are primarily those of the standard form, with some exceptions where the cursive form of certain traditional characters matches the simplified form, indicating that they have long been standardized and are directly written as simplified characters. The arrangement of radicals, the index, and the head entries in this dictionary follow the general order of standard dictionaries.
