Abnormal liver function during pregnancy

Patient's question:

In March 2004, while administering a shot to a patient with (HBeAg-positive hepatitis B), I accidentally pricked my finger. On the same day, I received an injection of immunoglobulin and the hepatitis B vaccine. Subsequently, a test showed positive for hepatitis B surface antibodies (anti-HBs), while other tests were negative. On September 30, 2005, a physical examination revealed increased liver echo, but liver function tests and the hepatitis B surface antibody test (HBsAg, anti-HBs, HBeAg, anti-HBe, anti-HBc) were normal. Later, I had the test repeated twice, and the hepatitis B surface antibody result was weakly positive.
Now I am five months pregnant, and a liver function test shows ALT at 121 U/L and AST at 77.2 U/L, with other tests normal. Could you please advise whether the abnormal liver function is related to pregnancy or to a previous infection?

Doctor's answer:

It is gestational hepatitis and should be unrelated to previous infections.
