Features: The study and understanding of the social psychology of people living within Chinese culture, uncovering and revealing the mutual construction process and characteristics of national culture and social psychology, ultimately serving society and contributing to humanity. This has been the pursuit of Chinese social psychologists for a century. The Chinese Journal of Social Psychology systematically selects and publishes papers by these scholars to showcase the multi-perspectives and rich academic achievements of the field of Chinese social psychology. In this journal, we have collected some of the accomplishments in face research by Chinese philosophers, anthropologists, psychologists, sociologists, and social psychologists over the past 60 years. Most of these works have been published before, some of which have had significant academic impact, while a few that have not been formally published are included here due to their unique insights. Our intention in selecting and publishing them is not only to show readers the research status and achievements of Chinese scholars on this topic but also to provide some guiding help for scholars preparing to engage in related research. To highlight this guidance, the selected papers focus primarily on conceptual discussions and theoretical constructions, while also including some empirical studies. This approach aims to specifically drive more empirical research. Clearly, although research on the face psychology and behavior of Chinese people has achieved some accomplishments, compared to other fields, it is still far from sufficient. We hope that this collection of publications can influence more scholars to focus on this topic, promote the in-depth and diversified development of face research, and contribute to the construction of social psychology theories for Chinese people.
