It's been a long time since trying to conceive.

Patient's question:

Patient: Female, 29 years old. After examination, contrast revealed blocked right fallopian tube, while the left fallopian tube is patent but tortuous and coiled.

Doctor's answer:

The probability of pregnancy with one-sided patency is 1/2 that of both sides being patent. Morphological tortuosity and coiling are more likely to lead to ectopic pregnancy. If the fallopian tubes are slightly shorter and the inner wall is smooth, the probability of ectopic pregnancy will be lower. Conversely, the probability will be much higher. It is still possible to try for pregnancy as long as you follow the doctor's instructions and have regular check-ups. If, unfortunately, it is ectopic pregnancy, taking medication early will not have a significant impact.
