Medical Advice:
Gynecological exams and endocrine tests are not the same thing. Gynecological exams are first and foremost routine checks, which are what we usually call gynecological internal exams. The doctor examines the external genitalia for any masses, inflammation, or skin changes related to sexually transmitted diseases through visual inspection and palpation. They also check the size, texture, and position of the uterus, the size and shape of the ovaries, and whether there is tenderness or pain in the pelvic area.
The next step is a vaginal discharge smear test. This checks for vaginal abnormalities, vaginal inflammation, and microscopic examination of vaginal discharge to determine if there is trichomoniasis or fungal infection, and to assess the vaginal cleanliness.
Finally, there is a cervical exam. This determines whether there is cervical inflammation, cervical erosion, or polyps. To prevent cervical cancer, a cervical smear test should be performed. The doctor uses a wooden spatula to collect shed cells from the cervical opening and sends them to the laboratory for observation of any abnormal cell morphology. This method can detect almost 90% of cervical cancer lesions. If the cervical smear test results are abnormal, further tests should be conducted under the guidance of a doctor.
