Features: This book provides a detailed discussion on the principles and fundamental theories of the effects of warhead and terminal effects, and briefly introduces the test technology of saddle field experiments for some typical terminal effects. The book is divided into nine chapters. Chapter 1: Vulnerability, which briefly introduces the vulnerability characteristics of different targets such as personnel, vehicles, buildings, and aircraft, and finally explains the new content in this field, i.e., the vulnerability characteristics of power systems. Chapter 2: Armor Penetration, which introduces dimensional theory and resistance law, penetration theory of projectiles against saddle plates, influencing factors of armor penetration, and penetration effects. Chapter 3: Penetrator Effect, which introduces the theory of shaped charge jet formation, jet penetration theory, self-forged fragments, and finally the numerical simulation of shaped charge armor penetration. Chapter 4: Fragmentation Effect, which introduces basic knowledge of stress waves, engineering calculations and influencing factors of spalling effects. Chapter 5: Kill Effect, which introduces fragment velocity characteristics and scattering characteristics, influencing factors of fragment performance, and kill power, and briefly explains the relevant content of projectile trajectories. Chapter 6: Air Blast and Chapter 7: Earth and Rock Blast respectively introduce the theories and effects of explosions of charges in air and in media such as earth and rock. Chapter 8: Overview of Soft Kill Effects, which briefly explains the damage effects of some soft kill weapon munitions, including high-power microwave radiation effects, laser blinding effects, audio effects, information jamming effects, short-circuit damage effects, and other cutting-edge technologies. Chapter 9: Terminal Effects Target Range Experiments and Testing, which mainly introduces the target range experiments and testing of armor-piercing munitions, armor-piercing munitions, warhead fragment performance target range experiments and testing, and warhead blast power performance target range experiments and testing. This book can be used as a textbook for undergraduate students in ordnance engineering, and can also be referred to by technical personnel engaged in ordnance warhead teaching, research, design, production, and target range experiments. It can also serve as a teaching reference book for postgraduate students in related fields.
