Had a moldy vaginal infection

Patient's question:

Hello, I had a fungal vaginal infection a few weeks ago, which has now been cured! But today it has recurred—there's some itching around the vaginal opening and a yellow discharge coming out! The discharge is like little grains! What kind of medicine should I take for this?

Doctor's answer:

(1) Eliminate triggers: If diabetes is present, active treatment should be provided, and broad-spectrum antibiotics, estrogens, and corticosteroids should be discontinued promptly. Change underwear frequently, and boil used underwear, basins, and towels.
(2) Local medication: Miconazole suppositories, clotrimazole suppositories, and nystatin suppositories.
(3) Systemic medication (for recurrent cases or patients unable to receive vaginal medication): Fluconazole, itraconazole, and ketoconazole.
