About A Lifetime Reading Plan How many books can one read in a lifetime? Suppose a person with 99 life cycles, starting from the age of 6, begins reading, and spends 2 hours a day reading (it is estimated that a person with a high school education can read about 20,000 words in an hour with slight reflection). Calculated this way, even a prodigy who lives to 99 years old would only read 4,526 books in their lifetime (assuming each book has 300,000 words). Moreover, this person must ensure that even on their wedding night, they still have 2 hours of "reading homework" waiting for them. As of the end of 1998, the collection of the National Library of China contained 21.6 million books, and it was growing at a rapid rate of 600 to 700,000 books per year. With such a vast collection, the library ranks only fifth among national libraries worldwide. The number 4,526 seems insignificant when compared to the 216 million. How can one "salvage" those books that cannot be missed in the vast sea of books? How can one read more books, more useful books, in the fleeting years of life? Under the guidance of top domestic experts and scholars, formulating an A Lifetime Reading Plan should be the preferred solution!
