What is female infertility?

Patient's question:

What are the factors or causes of female infertility, and how should we pay attention and prevent them?

Doctor's answer:

1. Tubal problems are one of the most common factors or causes of female infertility. The main factors or causes leading to tubal blockage or tubal dysfunction are acute or chronic tubal inflammation, blockage, and adhesion.
2. Ovarian problems Ovulation failure can also cause female infertility. Issues such as incomplete ovarian development or ovarian tumors can affect human development, health, and fertility. Reproductive gland underdevelopment, testicular feminization syndrome, true hermaphroditism, ovarian inflammation, and ovarian tumors can all lead to ovarian infertility.
3. Artificial abortion Abortion is prone to cause endometrial damage and uterine cavity adhesion, affecting the implantation of the fertilized egg and leading to infertility; causing tubal adhesion; triggering endometriosis and resulting in infertility; and endocrine disorders such as luteal dysfunction, anovulation, and galactorrhea, all of which can lead to infertility.
4. Immune problems In infertile women, approximately 10% to 30% of patients may be caused by immunological infertility. The main clinical manifestations include: immune infertility against the zona pellucida, immune infertility against sperm, and other conditions.
