Principles of Western Economics - (Third Edition)

Features: There are many differences between Western popular economics textbooks and domestically compiled economics textbooks, but we believe the greatest difference is that foreign textbooks include a large number of reference materials. These materials are mostly presented in the form of case studies, background introductions, brief biographies of figures, and guides to new developments in theory, interspersed throughout the textbook, making it quite lengthy. In our view, textbooks and teaching supplementary materials should be separated, as combining them is not very suitable for Chinese students. Based on this understanding, the third edition still strives to introduce the basic principles of Western economics in as concise a form as possible, providing readers with a basic framework to grasp the fundamental principles of economics in a relatively short time. This book series was written by teachers at our university who have long been engaged in teaching Western economics. The content is systematic and comprehensive, explaining basic theories around major economic issues while avoiding in-depth analysis and evaluation of debates between different schools of thought. It blurs the distinction between microeconomics and macroeconomics, emphasizes the microfoundations of macroeconomics, highlights the integration of micro and macro aspects of Western economic theory, and incorporates new achievements in economic theory research in recent years, making the book more focused, up-to-date, and contemporary.
Target Audience: Students and teachers in vocational colleges and polytechnic universities.
