While wandering in London, the solitary Oliver was targeted by a local pickpocket gang and tricked into a den of crime and filth by the treacherous Fagin, who hoped to train Oliver into a skilled thief to become a member of his "child pickpocket gang," thus adding another way to acquire ill-gotten gains for himself. Trapped, Oliver received help from the kind Mr. Brownlow, but it was just the beginning of his series of adventures. The harsh environment,, and the darkness of human nature surrounded Oliver. During his time on the streets, he endured countless hardships, but Oliver always maintained a pure heart, held hope for life, and even moved Nancy, the mistress of the second gang leader, Sykes, to have a change of heart. Seeing the innocence and purity in Oliver, she recognized her own past innocence and risked her life to rescue him from the den. However, Nancy was killed while trying to save the poor orphan. After many twists and turns, Oliver finally discovered his true identity. This is a famous novel by the renowned British writer Charles Dickens, which describes the tragic experiences of a group of impoverished children living in London under the guise of the British government's Poor Law in the workhouse. A child born without parents endured hunger and starvation in the poorhouse and was often severely beaten. He became an apprentice in a coffin shop but ran away due to the humiliation. Unfortunately, he fell into a den of thieves. The gang leader forced him to participate in robberies, but his kind nature led him to do the opposite of what the leader wanted. Despite being severely injured, his kindness ultimately brought him a happy ending.
